Second Annual TFS Bowl For Families
The Bowl for Families Event will be a day filled with prizes, food, and fun for all participants. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Tahoe Family Solutions (TFS) in the Tahoe Basin area by supporting TFS’ programs which include a summer camp for kids, affordable personal and family counseling on a sliding scale, and homework help for kids at Incline Elementary School. Enjoy vistas of Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Meadows at destination atop Relay Peak – at 10,338′ the high point on the Tahoe Rim Trail. Enjoy dinner as you take in the panoramic 360 degree views. Arrive just in time to watch the sun set far to the west and the moon rise to the east.

Open Water Food Web Dynamics in Lake Tahoe
UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center, Sierra Nevada College. Dr. Dave Beauchamp will share what is known about Lake trout, Kokanee salmon and Mysid shrimp interactions in the open water (pelagic zone) of Lake Tahoe based on past research and will also describe the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service efforts to fill in information gaps related to the Kokanee salmon, Mysid shrimp, and Lake Tahoe zooplankton. Fall Colors on the Flume Trail
Fall is the best time to hike the Flume Trail and enjoy fall colors above Lake Tahoe. This hike will climb up steep Tunnel Creek Road, but the views will be worth it as we follow the rolling terrain on the Flume Trail. We will turn around when the group has had its fill of beauty and then enjoy a downward journey back to our starting point. Don’t forget your camera!
